Compose Menus and Commands

The following menu commands appear in various posting dialogs (post, follow up, reply, or forward).
Insert FileInsert text from a file into the article or message.
Send (Ctrl-Enter)Send the article or message to the Outbox for sending.
Save DraftSaves the message to Draft Messages so that it can be edited and sent at a later time. The draft messages can be found by opening the menu item View - Draft Messages.
Cancel (Esc)Cancel sending the article or e-mail message.
Edit - Menu
Undo (Ctrl-Z)Undo is temporarily disabled (as of Build 2.9.14).
Cut (Ctrl + X) - Remove (cut) the selected text and place it in the Windows clipboard
Copy (Ctrl + C) - Copy the selected text to the Windows clipboard
Paste (Ctrl + V) - Paste the contents of the clipboard into the article or message
Options - Menu
Add AttachmentAttach one or more files to the article or mail message. See the Compose, Post, and Follow-up Articles Chapter for details .
Check Spelling (F7)Manually run the Gravity spell checker on the article or e-mail text. Gravity is set by default to run the spell checker automatically before sending (configured in View - Global Options - Spelling)
Scramble (ROT-13)Apply ROT-13 encryption to the article you are composing. Select Scramble again to unscramble the article. Currently ROT-13 is applied to the entire article.
Wrap Selected Lines (Ctrl + W)Re-wraps selected text. Put the mouse focus in the line(s) before using the command.
Other Options and Commands
Choose Newsgroups GroupsAdd or remove one or more newsgroups from the post or follow up article. Gravity will include the original article group(s) automatically. Please do not cross post excessively. Cross posting has valid purposes, but in general the article should only be sent to groups where the subject is on topic.
SignatureThe small drop down box in the upper left corner of the compose window contains a list of defined signatures. You can change the signature here, if desired.
MIMEUse this box to select if you want to use MIME (Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions) or UUENCODE encoding to encode your attachments.
CC to Author and CC to SelfYou can send a copy of the article to the author or yourself by e-mail (if you have entered a valid e-mail address and properly set up an SMTP server).
Remove AttachmentRemove an attachment you added to the article or message you are composing. To remove the attachment, right click on the attachment in the attachment window.
Advanced FieldsOpens additional fields. For example you can add an X-Face: or X-No-Archive: custom header, set a follow up, or reply to. These fields are added only to the current article. To set custom headers automatically, use Tools - Global Options - Posting (for all articles), or Newsgroup - Properties - Overrides (for a specific group).
