Attach binaries when posting - see About The Compose Window Interface and Options

Tools - Global Options - Encoding
Remove the check from "Start attachments in a separate article" if you do not want Gravity posting a separate introductory article.
Also note that you can adjust the split size so that attachments are not split across multiple articles (best used for pictures and other small attachments; larger attachments are usually split).
Note: The preferred Character Set and 8-bit settings on the Encoding tab refers to posting text in articles, not to binary attachments.
