Installed EXE name - This controls the name of the EXE created by Thinstall during install. The default value of %ProgramName% will use the name of the EXE run by the installer. Some programs may fail to run properly if renamed, and Internet Explorer may download successive copies of the same name as program[1].exe program[2].exe. By changing the installed EXE name to "program.exe" instead of "%ProgramName%", you can avoid this problem.

How can I force installation to create a subdirectory off of the user selected path?

Default Install Path - This is the default install path presented to the user if the GUI is displayed. If all options are set to automatic then your application will automatically be installed to this path when it is run with no GUI display. Use default Install Path - If this option is set to "Prompt" the user is allowed to change the default install path, otherwise they will be forced to use the Installation path you selected.

Restricted Install Path - This is the path that will be suggested to the user if they do not have permission to create file at the path located at "Default Install Path". Typically this occurs for Guest Accounts where they cannot write to c:\program files\ . If the user does not have write access to "Restricted Install Path", then the Temp directory will be suggested as the install location.

Create Desktop shortcut - Controls if a shortcut is added to the user's desktop.
· Yes, Automatically - The user is not asked if they would like to add a desktop shortcut, a shortcut is automatically added.
· Prompt, Default Yes - The user is asked if they would like to add a desktop shortcut with a checkbox. The checkbox is checked to begin with.
· No - The user is not given the choice to add a desktop shortcut, and no shortcut is added.
· Prompt, Default No - The user is asked if they would like to add a desktop shortcut with a checkbox. The checkbox is not checked to begin with.

Create Other Shortcuts - Controls if the "other shortcut list" will be created. Typically these shortcuts will be in the StartMenu, but could also be used to create shortcuts on the Desktop, StartUp, and other folders. If Create Other Shortcuts is disabled either by you, or by the User, then none of the shortcuts in the list will be created - but potentially a desktop shortcut could still be created.

Run After Install - Controls whether Thinstall will display a "Install complete" message, and ask the user if they wish to run the installed application.
· Yes, Automatically. The application is launched immediately after it finishes installing. Use this option to reduce the number of clicks from download to run.
· Prompt, Default Yes - The user is informed of install completion and the default action is to run the application next.
· Notify with no run options - The user is not given the choice to run the application on completion, but is informed that the install has completed.
· Silent finish with no run - When installation completes, the application quits immediately and no notice if given to the user - and the application is not run.

Progress Visibility
· "Normal" - The installation progress will be displayed normally.
· "Invisible unless an error occurs" - The dialog window will be invisible unless an error occurs
· "Invisible, Abort on Error" - The dialog window will be invisible unless another option above requires user interaction. If an error occurs during installation, the install will silently fail without any messages to the user.
