Menu: Server - Properties - Group Tab
The group tab allows you to control if Gravity gets new newsgroups upon connecting (otherwise you can do it manually), and when the server new article count is refreshed.
Get list of new groups upon connecting
When you enable this setting, Gravity will ask the news server when it first connects for all of the new groups that have been added on the server since the last time it was checked. You can always check for new groups manually if you disable this option.
Display new groups after retrieval
If you enable this option, Gravity will display the list of new groups that were added since Gravity last checked when they are returned from the server. The groups are presented in the Subscribe dialog.
Update server countThese settings instruct Gravity when to refresh the server article count (check for new articles) in all groups.
· Manually – Only check for new articles when you ask Gravity to do it.
· Once per session – Only check for new articles once, upon the first connection to the server.· Upon connecting – Check for new articles each time a connection is established with the server.
Note: The last choice will check the server for new articles every time you connect to the server, including reconnects from time outs. If you have a lot of groups and find this annoying, select another option and update the new article count manually with the following command in the Server Menu.
