Verify Headers (expired articles)

Expired articles
Expired articles are no longer available from the server, but the headers remain in Gravity's database and show in the thread pane list. You can have Gravity remove expired articles with "Verify Local Headers"
There are two ways to Verify Local headers
·      Automatically, with server settings (set and forget) ·      Manually

Automatically Verify Local Headers  (server setting)
Server - Properties - Operation "Verify local headers when ..."
If this server setting is enabled, Gravity will get the list of all articles available on the server at the end of each header retrieval phase, compare them with those articles in the local database, and remove the expired ones. When this option is set you will rarely (maybe never) see expired articles. This option creates additional online activity and subsequent processing.
This option is best used for normal-size text groups and you probably will not notice affects.
Ø    However, if you are subscribed to large binary groups, or have a slow connection, it is best to not enable it. Gravity may appear to take an unusually long time to finish retrieving headers as it processes the articles. See for details and tips.

Verify Local Headers (manual command)
Right click the newsgroup in the group pane and select "Verify Local Headers"
You can manually remove expired articles at any time whether the above setting is enabled or not with this command. Use this command if you see start seeing expired articles. As with many newsgroup commands, it can be run on multiple selected groups at once.
