Group Nickname
Assign a custom name to the selected newsgroup.
Tip: You can use the nickname to group or sort newsgroups by adding prefixes such as leading spaces.
Do not automatically retrieve headers for this group
When you issue the server command to "retrieve headers for subscribed groups" Gravity fetches headers for all groups on the server. With this setting, you can exclude the selected group from this operation. This is useful for groups you don't read on a frequent basis or to speed up fetching headers. You can always fetch headers for the excluded group(s) manually.
Excluded groups have a red slash through the group icon.
Sample this group (unsubscribe when exiting)
You can "sample" a newsgroup if you want to try it out, but not permanently subscribe. You can convert the selected group to a permanent group by un-checking the box. You don't have to remember, if you have sampled groups, Gravity will ask if you want to keep them upon exiting. If you do not convert a sampled group, it will be deleted.
Sampled group icons have a red border.
Storage Settings for this group
With this option you can override global storage settings for the selected group and retrieve and store article bodies (or do the opposite and not store them).
Highest read server article
This is how you can fetch older articles, or all available articles, for the selected newsgroup. The number on the left of the slider represents the lowest article number available on the server, and the number on the right represents the highest available from the server that has not been read. You can get older articles by sliding the slider bar to the left as much as desired.
Newsgroup pane appearance
You can customize the font, font size, font color, and background color of the newsgroup pane. If you want to change the background color, uncheck the box for "System Default"
