About Threading and Filters

Many filters (such as the default "Unread" articles filter) arrange articles in threads.
Thread options are set in Tools - Global Options - Display tab
When you create a filter that *threads* articles, the threads are displayed according to the option set in Global Options. You can alter how the filter will sort the threads (ascending or descending), but you have only one threading option.

The Thread display options are to sort threads by Date (default), Subject, or Score. The first two should be self explanatory. By Score sorts first by score. Threads with equal scores are next sorted by date.
When you create a filter that sorts articles by thread you can choose to sort ascending or descending.
For example, if you sort threads by Score with a "descending" filter, the article threads are arranged by high to low scores. This places highest scored threads at the top of the thread display.
If you sort threads by Date, a "descending" filter arranges articles from newest to oldest. You can reverse the sort, from oldest to newest by using an "ascending" condition in the filter.
If you sort threads by Subject, the threads are sorted alphabetically according to ascending or descending.
