Manual Decode (Control + M) (Article menu)
Manual decode allows you to assemble multiple parts manually.
It also will (usually) decode single part binaries that confuse Gravity's multi-part file recognition. Sometimes numbers and slashes will result in a Gravity error, even if the file is ok. In many cases a manual decode will succeed when decode fails.
For example, some single part binaries are posted with subjects that contain 1/6 (usually seen with a series) or a slashed date. Gravity may think these represent a multi-part attachment and will issue a decode error.
· For single-part binaries, simply select the article and choose manual decode.
· To manually decode multi-part binaries, select all parts and choose manual decode. A window will open which allows you to place the parts in the proper order. (You must order them correctly)
You can also use Manual Decode to decode only part of an incomplete binary (or just a part of a complete one). This trick may not work for all files. With *.mpg videos, you can select the first ## parts, and the last part, then manual decode the partial file (you might need the last part).
