Looking for Hex-Ed, the original free, Windows Hex-Editor? You can find it here.
This is the oficial page of nHex-Ed, the new, free & open-source hex editor.
History
nHex-Ed is my "new" Hex Editor, loosely based on Hex-Ed for Windows, which itself was based on earlier hex-editors written by me in C on MS-DOS and even before that in BASCOM on CP/M.
After several requests for new features in Hex-Ed, I decided to rewrite the program as an open-source project, using the original internals from the previous versions.
It is now in "beta" state and can be downloaded in source-form to be compiled on most Linux systems and probably other systems that have a compatible C compiler. My goal for now is to create a working version for Linux, *BSD and, later, Windows.
There are still many ideas on my own "wish-list", but feel free to get in touch with me if you have suggestions or found a bug.
Here you can see a screenshot of nHex-Ed editing a file:

Feel free to contact me with suggestions or requests, I always try to respond. You can get in touch with me from this page.
