The distributed build system has been working fine for the last few days / nights, so I managed to build several packages for ARMedslack.
These are now available for download on my site:

viewvc + Pygments (browser interface for cvs and svn)
xspacewarp (Time-Trek like game for X-Windows)
inadyn (Dynamic DNS updater)
nagios + nagios-plugins (IT monitoring system)
ntop + GeoIP [...]

No, I did not abandon ARMedslack, the official port of Slackware to the ARM architecture… It was simply a matter of lack of time (or a question of priorities, depending of your point of view).
But this weekend I finally found some time to setup a clean build environment based on the stable ARMedslack 13.1 version.
The [...]

A few days ago, while working on the update of my SlackBuild for Zarafa version 6.40.1, version 6.40.2 was released. At first I thought of submitting the script using the newest version, but soon found out that it was not that simple… The newest release simply would not build on Slackware… Since I had already [...]

QComicBook 0.6.0 was actually released almost a month ago, but only now I had some time to create the new packages…
This new version has support for translations (including Portuguese!) and some minor enhancements.
There are some very interesting changes in the development branch, but these will probably only be released in the next stable version.
A new [...]

mysqlcc revisited
I used to use MySQL Control Center ('mysqlcc') quite a lot until a few years ago, when I switched to phpMyAdmin.
The biggest advantage of phpMyAdmin is that it is actively maintained, while mysqlcc has not seen updates for almost three years.
mysqlcc's interface also had a bit of an "old-fashioned" look, as it is still [...]

The guys that are developing FBReader are releasing so many updates that it is difficult to keep my SlackBuild and packages up-to-date!
Only a few days ago I mentioned the new 0.12.7 version and they're already at 0.12.9
The new version resolves some bugs and improves the Smashwords library support. The code is also compatible [...]

A new version of FBReader, an e-book reader with functions to download books from some popular sites, has been released.
Version 0.12.7 is mainly a bug-fix release, but it also add some extra support for ePub files.
The new SlackBuild script is in the pending queue on SlackBuilds.org and pre-built packages for Slackware 32-bits, 64-bits and ARMedslack [...]

In a previous post I wrote about this little program I found called statifier.
This program can create a "statified" version of an executable program, that will be portable (so that it won't need the locally installed libraries). This also serves in many cases to make 32-bits programs executable on a 64-bits installation.
A new version was [...]

Already a few weeks ago the Geeqie team released the first stable version of this image viewer, a fork from gqview, included in many Linux distributions.
The original gqview program had some bugs, but development had stalled some time ago. But lucky for us, some guys picked up this project and created a new program that [...]

Since I was doing some tests with Slackware running on different platforms (Slack/390, Slack/390x, ArmedSlack on Qemu, etc.) I wanted to compare the performance of the different setups.
I used a (quite old) utility called nbench that was originally written in 1995 but still is a simple way to compare how processors perform, emulated or real. [...]
