Microsoft Office Word Redaction Add-in: Show and hide redaction marks

By default, text marked for redaction is highlighted in gray. The highlighting becomes visible when you mark the objects.

To hide redaction marks

• On the Review tab, in the Redaction group, click Mark, and then click Hide Marks.

  Note When you redact a document, objects that are marked are redacted even if the marks are hidden.

To view hidden redaction marks

• On the Review tab, in the Redaction group, click Mark, and then click Show Marks.

Redaction is the careful editing of a document to remove confidential information. To redact a document, you can download the Microsoft Office Word Redaction Add-in from the Word Redaction Add-in site.
