Link to a Business Contact Manager for Outlook record
You can link an Outlook item or another Microsoft Office file to one or more records in Business Contact Manager for Outlook.
Link an item in Outlook to a Business Contact Manager for Outlook record
- Select an e-mail message or task, and on the
Business Contact Manager
toolbar, clickLink to Record
.
Link a file to a Business Contact Manager for Outlook record from Excel, PowerPoint or Word
- Click the
Microsoft Office Button
, and point to
Business Contact Manager
. - Click
Link to Record
.
Link a publication to to a Business Contact Manager for Outlook record from Publisher
- On the
Business Contact Manager
toolbar, clickLink to a Record
.
Search
To locate a specific record, type a name in the Search
box.
Folder
Select the type of record. ( Account
, Business Contact
, Opportunity, or Business Project) that you want to link the item to.
After you select a Folder
, then select a record to link the item to.
Tip Click the column heading to sort the records by that column.
Linked records
Link To
Select one or more records in the list, and then click Link To
.
To unlink an item or file in a list, select the record that you want to remove, and click the Delete
button.
New Click this button to create a new record to link to. The new record that opens is of the same record type selected in the Folder
list.
Open Click this button to open the record selected in the list.
Notes:
- If you do not have an Outlook profile, when you click
Link to Record
, you will be prompted to create a profile before you can continue. - Rarely, you may find that the Business Contact Manager for Outlook items are missing from the menu or toolbar. To re-enable Business Contact Manager for Outlook, do the following:
- Click the
Microsoft Office Button
(insert the Start button), and then click the Program Name Options button.
- In the
Options
dialog box, clickAdd-Ins
. - Select
Business Contact Manager for Outlook
, and then, in theManage
dialog box, selectCOM Add-Ins
, and clickGo
. - In the
Com Add-Ins
dialog box, selectBusiness Contact Manager for Outlook
, and then clickOK
. Start the Office program and check to see whether the Business Contact Manager for Outlook
