You can check which version of the Microsoft Office program is installed on your computer, and you can determine the product ID number of your copy of the program. You can also get information about your computer.

Do the following in these Microsoft Office programs:

Access, Excel, PowerPoint, or Word

  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button button image, and then click Program Name Options, where Program Name is the name of the program you are in, for example, Word Options.
  2. Click Resources, and then next to About Program Name, click About.

    Note Program Name is the name of the program you are in, for example, About Microsoft Office Word.

  3. To see information about your computer, in the About Program Name dialog box, click System Info.

InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, Outlook, Publisher, Project, OneNote, or Visio

  1. On the Help menu, click About Microsoft Office Program Name.

  2. To see information about your computer, click System Info.
