When you type an equation and a delimiting character - such as a space - in a math region, Microsoft Office Word automatically converts it into a professionally formatted equation. The following procedure explains how to convert a professionally formatted equation into an equation on one line.

1. Select the equation.
2. Under Equation Tools, on the Design tab, in the Tools group, click Linear.
