Add-ins are supplemental programs that add custom commands or custom features to Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

You can obtain add-ins for PowerPoint on the Downloads site on Office Online or on third-party vendor Web sites. If you are a developer, you can write your own custom add-in programs by using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) .

Load a PowerPoint add-in

  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Add-Ins.
  2. In the Available Add-Ins list, click the add-in that you want to load, and then click Load.

    Note If the add-in that you want to load is not in the Available Add-Ins list, click Add New, locate the add-in, click OK, and then complete steps 1 and 2 above.

Load a COM add-in

Component Object Model (COM) add-ins are typically used by developers.

  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click COM Add-Ins.
  2. In the Available Add-Ins list, click the add-in that you want to load, and then click Load.

    Note If the add-in that you want to load is not in the Available Add-Ins list, click Add New, locate the add-in, click OK, and then complete steps 1 and 2 above.
