Updating Existing Gravity Versions

You do not need to uninstall Gravity before installing a new version. The Gravity Installer will keep existing settings and databases, unless you are installer another major version (2.8, 2.9, etc).
Backing Up Settings
You should create a backup (export) of settings and database to a *.gdx file before upgrading. This is even more important if you are trying beta versions. You may have to uninstall Gravity to go back a previous version and using a *.gdx file can save a lot of time. Use the following command:
Tools - Database - Export Database and Settings

Installing Over Existing Versions

·      If setup detects an existing version (including 2.7 or 2.8), it will offer to import databases and settings.

·      If you are updating a major version (2.9.x), Gravity will update the necessary files and further setup will not be required.

Import Saved settings

·      If you have saved a *.gdx file with Gravity's Export function, you can use the button "Import Database and Settings File" during a clean install or if you need to re-install Gravity.
