UNDO (Crtl + Z) Does not work in Compose WindowUndo is disabled for now.
Connection Lost but Shows ConnectedYes, sometimes Gravity does not know it is disconnected until it tries to do something. You might even get weird messages such as: "the group does not exist on the server". The solution is to re-connect manually. If time and resources permit, the developers intend to rework the connection scheme for online use. But this has not been done, as of Version 2.9.14.
Connection Problems (hang or delay on start)This happened ONLY in build 2.9.13 because of the startup update check. The solution is to upgrade to a later version. The connection scheme changed in Build 2.9.14 and the startup update check should not cause a hang or delay.
(You can disable the automatic check for updates in Tools - Global Options - Updates and check for updates manually from the same tab or from the Help menu)
Multi-Part Binaries are not recognized or decoded incorrectly.This normally does not happen. But you might have the old regular expression stuck in the registry from an old version. See the fix in the Binaries FAQ .
Potential Hangs and CrashesGravity may hang or crash when exiting or switching servers while actively downloading headers. The potential for this occurring has been greatly reduced in newer versions.
You can avoid this if you let Gravity finish server activity before changing servers or exiting the program.
The safest way to stop Gravity during activity is to use the "Stop Retrieving" command.
Gravity does not recognize replies to my messagesThe filter and rule condition "Article is in reply to my message" may not work. There are two Gravity setting that may effect this.
· Server - Properties - Posting . Set Gravity to generate the Message-ID. Gravity must generate the ID for reply recognition to work.
· Tools - Global Options - Posting , "Number of articles IDs to keep (for rule processing)" This number tells Gravity hows many of your message-IDs to save and you may be exceeding the internal limit. This condition is not common unless you do a lot of posting. You can set a higher number, but don't get carried away because these are held in memory.
If these do not work, it may not be working because one of the following is true.
1. The news server changes the Message-ID, or 2. You are using a local server like Hamster to generate the Message ID. 3. You have not set Gravity to generate the Message ID in Server - Properties - Posting . Gravity must generate the Message-ID.
If any of these conditions is true, tracking replies will not work and there is nothing that can be done about it.
Article Counts do not SynchronizeThis is a rare occurrence, but sometimes the article counts do not synchronize. Try the keyboard command on the current open group with Shift + F7.
