uname [options]
Options
-a
displays all information.
-m
displays the hardware type (for example, i586
).
-n
displays the machine's hostname.
-p
displays the processor type (this appears as unknown
).
-r
displays the operating system release (for example, 2.4.0-0.43.12).
-s
displays the operating system name.
-v
displays the operating system version (shown as date of compilation).
