Biography


Blümchen's real name is Jasmin Wagner. She was born on the 20th April 1980 in Hamburg, Germany.
Her hobbies are cheerleading, in-line skating, going to cinema, dancing, etc.

Jasmin Wagner Blümchen (a nickname given by her mother) began her singing career in the school choir.

1995
In the summer of 1995 during an NDW-party, she met the musicproducers Stani Djukanovic and Arn Schlürmann.

They liked her voice and her natural behaviour and she got to make a single called Herz an Herz and as you all know, was a huge success (over 340 000 copies sold).

1996
Herz an Herz was followed by Kleiner Satellit (Piep, Piep), released in March 1996, which wasn't such a great success compared to Herz an Herz.

In June 1996, single number three was released, it was entitled Boomerang and it directly became a megahit.

In May 1996 she released her first album called Herzfrequenz, which contained 13 tracks. There was also a cd-rom track with the videos of Herz an Herz and Kleiner Satellit (piep, piep). The album was also released in an English version called Heartbeat under the name Blossom.

In September 1996 the single Du und Ich was released and in November 1996 she released a remake of Queen's old hit Bicycle Race. This song was included in the Queen Dance Traxx project.

1997
In January 1997 Jasmin got the BRAVO Golden Otto and she won in several categories (Best CD, Best National Female Singer and Best show). She has also won several other awards, including the Echo Award (German Grammy Awards) for "Best German Female Artist of 1996".

In February 1997 she released the album Herzfrequenz - Die Goldedition, which was a double cd.
The first CD is the same as Herzfrequenz but the second is a CD-ROM and it contains pictures,
a biography and all videos from Herz an Herz to Bicycle Race.

In April 1997 she released Nur Geträumt, a cover of an old Nena song. This was the first single to be released from her second album Verliebt which was released in May 1997. Verliebt contained 12 tracks and you can hear that the producers have been influenced by, for example, BBE and Scooter when they wrote the songs to this album.

In the end of June 1997 she released her second single Verrückte Jungs, from the album Verliebt.

In the beginning of August 1997 the English version of "Verliebt" was released under the title In Love and in mid-September Gib Mir Noch Zeit was released, this song is unlike the others a slow ballad.

In November of 1997 Blümchen made a cover for the 25th anniversary of Sesame Street called
Sesam Jam (Der, Die, Das), and it's a cover of the song from Sesame Street.

In November Blümchen also released a goldedition version of the album Verliebt. It's a double-cd and
the first cd is the same as original Verliebt and the second is a cd-rom containing videos, pictures and a biography.

1998
Jasmin Wagner Blümchen won the Golden BRAVO OTTO for best singer 1997. She also won the categories for best show, the most good looking singer and best CD. She also got an award from both Popcorn and Pop/Rocky as the best female artist/singer.

Jasmin also got a gold record for the album Verliebt on February 12th and in March 1998 a Fanedition of the album was released.

On May 18th Blümchen the single Blaue Augen was released and it's a cover of an song written by Annette Humpe.

The single Ich Bin Wieder Hier was released on August 24. Ich Bin Wieder Hier is a cover of Rozalla's early 1990's dance hit Everybody's Free.

Blümchen released her third album Jasmin on September 28. The album contains 13 songs in various styles: Pop, Electro, House and the classic "Blümchen-Rave".

One of the songs Hand In Hand (Gewalt Ist Doof) was written by Jasmin herself.

Blümchen's last single for 1998 was "Es Ist Vorbei", gone was the old "Blümchen-Rave" style,
it's was replaced with a more soft pop-style. The single was released on the 2nd of November.

Blümchen released a video called '95 - '98 Das Video on November 30. It features all music videos
made until fall 1998, it also includes live-apperances and an interview with Jasmin.

1999
Jasmin Wagner In February the single Tu es mon île featuring the french singer Yta Farrow was released in France. The song is a remake of Du bist die Insel containing vocals in both german and french.

Jasmin "only" got a BRAVO Silver Otto this year (she had won the Golden Otto 2 years in a row) in the category Beliebtesten Singer. She also got a Silver Otto in the category Best CD.

For the second time of her career Blümchen has won the Echo award for Best national female artist.

The single Heut' ist Mein Tag was released on April 19th and it's a song in real happy-Blümchenstyle.

The livealbum called Live in Berlin was released on the 29th of November. It contains several hits from her and also includes a long medley.

The single Unter'm Weihnachtsbaum was released on the 6th of December.

2000
Blümchen got the 3rd Place in the category Best Singer in the german teen-magazine POPCORN
She's was also nominated for an ECHO in the Best national female artist" category.

The single Ist Deine Liebe Echt was released on May 22. This single is in a different style than her
previous releases, it's a disco track, but it's still a very good track.

The album Die Welt Gehört Dir was released on June 26. This album contains 13 new tracks , including
the single Ist Deine Liebe Echt. There's several good tracks both in her "usual" style and also some in a
slower tempo. You can clearly hear influences from both Ann Lee and Rollergirl. The only song on the
album that I can't really get to like is the cover of Walk Like An Egyptian, entitled Geh'n Wie Ein Ägypter
on the album. The is her best album so far.

The single Die Welt Gehört Mir was released in the beginning of September.

It's finally here, Blümchen's best of album!It's entitled Für Immer Und Ewig and is a double cd with
a total of 32 songs! It features hits as Herz An Herz, Kleiner Satellit, Ich Bin Wieder Hier and many
other of her hits and also some new 2000 remixes of her old classics. It's a must for all fans!

On November 13, a "Geschenk Edition" of Die Welt Gehört Dir was released.

The single Ich Vermisse Dich, was released on 27 December 2000.

Jasmin was the covergirl on the german edition of "For Him Magazine" december issue.

Blümchen: The end of an era
The release of her "Best Of" album titled Für Immer Und Ewig - das Beste von Blümchen marked the end of
Jasmin Wagner's career as German pop flower Blümchen. Between 1995 and 2000, the now 20 year-old star
had 17 singles and 5 albums in the Media Control charts. World-wide sales totaled 30 million Blümchen singles
and album copies. Looking back on 5 Top 10 singles, 14 additional Top 20 hits, 2 Gold albums, 2 ECHO Awards
plus a number of other trophies (including several BRAVO Otto Awards) she became the most succesful German
pop artist of the nineties.

Jasmin expresses her special thanks to everybody who supported her and her musical endeavours over the past
five years, fans and producers alike. After five exciting and wonderful years, it's now time to pursue new horizons.
Like everybody, I have changed and developed. And I'm sure my fans will understand.

2001
Blümchen retired after the 2001 tour, Jasmin is now going to focus her career on some other projects.

Jasmin Wagner will star in a Hollywood movie called Driven, the movie stars Sylvester Stallone and is directed by
Renny Harlin and had it's premiere in the US on April 16.

She's still the moderator of the Disney Filmparade.

Jasmin Wagner has released a single called Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, it was released on November 21 in Germany.

2002
Blümchen is now the moderator of the TV show "teen star" (Popstars 3) in Germany.

2003
Blümchen released a DVD + a double-CD album with all the hits and videoclips on July 7th.

Jasmin Wagner released her single Leb Deinen Traum on September 8th.

2004
Jasmin Wagner released her single Helden Wie Wir on April 13th.

2006
Jasmin Wagner released her single Männer Brauchen Liebe on March 31st and the album Die Versuchung was released on April 15th.

2007
Jasmin Wagner released a special edition of her latest album Die Versuchung on 27 January.

Blümchen in Sweden
1998
Before the end of 1998 almost no one in Sweden had heard of Blümchen. Only a few fans was listening to her
music in Sweden. But in December 1998 she got more and more popular with the song Ich Bin Wieder Hier.

Jasmin Wagner It all began when the Swedish musicshow Voxpop showed the video to Ich Bin Wieder Hier. It went straight into place nr 5 (out of 10) on the Voxpop chart.

The second week it was still nr 5 but the third and last week in climbed up on place to nr 4. At the same time the Ich Bin Wieder Hier entered Trackslistan, a very popular radio music program on Swedish Radio P3.

The song climbed on the charts and at the end of 1998 Tracks compiled a list over the past year. Blümchen came on place nr 14 on the chart
Tracks Hits 98 - Female Soloartists and the song Ich Bin Wieder Hier placed itself on place nr 60 on the Tracks Hits 98 - Melodies. All this despite she had only been on the charts for a few weeks.

On the 16th December 1998 Blümchen visited Sweden for the first time, she was interviewed on national radio (P3) and on several other commercial radiostations. But she also was a guest on the musicshow "Voxpop" (where it all started). In the interview she said that she find it great that Swedish people like the music she does despite the lyrics are in German. She also said that she is very positive to make some concerts here in Sweden and she also said that she was a big Roxette fan and would like to meet Marie and Per.

The single Ich Bin Wieder Hier was offically released in Sweden in week 50, this was the first single
to officially be released in Sweden, all other singles had to be imported.

Also in the last week of 1998 she went straigt into place nr. 22 on the Swedish Dance Chart, the SDC is
based on feedbacks from 150 Swedish deejays, with the song Ich Bin Wieder Hier.

1999
Jasmin Wagner She reached nr 12 on the SDC on week 4 which became the highest place for this song.

The video Blaue Augen was shown on Voxpop during the weeks 7-9 and it became very popular.
The first week it placed nr 5, the second week placed nr 2 and on the third and last week it also placed nr 2.

The video Nur Geträumt was also shown on Voxpop and the single was released in the beginning of April in Sweden.
Nur Geträumt is also available on Jasmin" - Swedish Edition.

The single Heut' Ist Mein Tag was released in Sweden on the 28th of June.

Heut' Ist Mein Tag has sold gold in Sweden (August 1999).

Unter'm Weihnachtsbaum was released in the end of November.

In the summary of the top 40 songs on the Swedish radioprogram Tracks Blümchen had three (3) hits on it.

On the swedish radio P3 show Tracks summary of 1999 Blümchen was one of the big winners.

Blümchens producers are also in the Producers Top 20 list. Paralyzer at place number 5 and
Stani Silence Djukanovic at place number 7.

2000
Blümchen was voted Best Danceact" - NRJ Extravadance at the Swedish NRJ Radio Awards.

Gib Mir Noch Zeit was released in Sweden on February 7.

The single Ist Deine Liebe Echt was released on May 22, one week before the German release.

The album Die Welt Gehört Dir was released on June 26.

The single Die Welt Gehört Mir was released on August 28.

Swedish artist E-type (recently know for Campione 2000) and Blümchen have made a song together.
The cooperation wasn't that easy.

The bigger part of the songwriting was made over the telephone and e-mail due to the large distance
between the two of them.

-"The german songwriters wasn't that good in english and wondered what the song was all about. And I can't
speak german so it's possible that we sing about different things" says E-type to the swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

The song is called Es Ist Nie Vorbei and will be featured on E-Type's next album which is set to be
released in the spring 2001.

Es Ist Nie Vorbei was released on November 27.

2001
