Hi everyone,
First, allow me to say how proud I am of what is happening here. It is truly refreshing to see so much dedicated people exchanging ideas and really trying to build something great! I have not seen this in our previous world for a very long time now ! I am very honored to be a part of this project and I am confident that we will achieve something great. What, we don't know it yet, but Herko is working on it ! ![]() ![]() That being said, I would like to make a very "diplomatic" request to all people who have joined this project. Soon, we will officially go public about ImpressCMS. Soon, all the spotlights of the XOOPS world will be on us and it will be an incredible opportunity for us to gather more people. We will advertise our project everywhere we can, we have already started the ImpressCMS Blog, we also have other blogs or other sites where we will advertise our project. So very soon, many words will be said about ImpressCMS. I would like everyone here to always stick to a positive talking. It would be very easy to bash on XOOPS, on DJ, and on everything that went wrong with XOOPS. It would be very easy to criticize and say that we will be so better because blablabla... This, I believe we don't have to do. We will speak with our actions, and not our words, with our community spirit and not our attacks, with our openness and not our reprimands, with our product and not our roadmap. I would like everyone here to commit not to talk negatively about the XOOPS project. "We exists because we could not be involved in the XOOPS world anymore, that's it. And here are the great things we will do..." You probably all know this but, in a political campaign, statistically, the party who makes negative publicity about is opponent usually loose the campaign. Let's be better then this. Let's create a positive, fun and impressing project ! Posted on: 12/7 21:20

I agree.
It's pointless arguing over the same things... sadly it doesn't do anything except raise your own bloodpressure. It's enought to know you're right - without having to tell everyone else that they are wrong. Let's move foward ![]() Posted on: 12/7 21:30

A very old saying comes to mind here...
"you can attract more bees with honey" I agree to make this commitment. Posted on: 12/7 21:34

A bit strange perhaps, but I don't agree 100%. I fully support the intent, and that Impress is not about against-DJ, but for Impress. The Reboot group however got together because of our common disapproval of DJs way of running XOOPS. And I think the world has a right to know why we are forking -and why Impress is better then what DJ is doing. Otherwise DJ is getting away with all his masculine-bovine-excrements. It's not about starting a fight, but about not starting a fight, because we go our own way. But give the people grounds to make a good choice of which group to follow.

I partially agree with Herko on this, but recommend to keep the attention to XOOPS and the history of "where it all went wrong" as small as possible.
When it comes to the question why did ICMS come to exists as a XOOPS fork, we can briefly state that the vision of the ICSM developers differ from that of the current XOOPS project management and then focus on ICMS itself, our promise to the users and our plans for the future development of ICMS. I believe that if we put too much attention to the legacy of XOOPS we run the risk of inheriting the discussions that take our focus away from new developments. Instead we should focus on ICMS itself and what it has to offer ![]() Posted on: 12/8 5:35

In other words: Don't deny the past, but don't dwell on it.

I agree with the first part of your sentence, but not about the "masculine-bovine-excrements" (well, I agree with the meaning ![]() Quote: When it comes to the question why did ICMS come to exists as a XOOPS fork, we can briefly state that the vision of the ICSM developers differ from that of the current XOOPS project management and then focus on ICMS itself, our promise to the users and our plans for the future development of ICMS. I absolutely agree. We can say what we have good, bug not what they have wrong. Only use positive side of things and never use a negative language. Posted on: 12/8 7:06

on a more personal note, a lengthy post about DJ's wrongdoings, his false accusations, his continuous denial of the community's contributions, his acting against people he cannot control, Marco's hurtful posts, slander and attacks, the passive support to hackers that destroy the Brazilians great contributions, the hostage taing f personal data, the fact that they all work without any mandate, the insecurity of the servers, the attacks on James' character, Damaster's reinstatement and the following attacks on many peoples characters... the list is long. For me, too long to keep hidden.
So I propose this: Anyone who wants to join me is free to do so, we write an open letter to the XOOPS Council, stating everything, providing concrete evidence and all that. We make no mention of Impress at all, and can post it anonymous if necessary, and I will post the letter on my personal site (and anyone is free to follow that example). I have a need to get this out in the open, to correct some of the wrongs that have been done to some very very good people. Herko Posted on: 12/8 7:10

This, I fully support Herko. I have 2 strong convictions.
1- DJ, marco, damaster, mikael and all the other usual suspects deserve the community to know about their actions. 2- ImpressCMS is the way of the future and needs to stay out of fights and war because this is the very reason why XOOPS failed. Point 2 is just a little bit higher in my priority then number 1, and this is why I posted this "diplomatic request". But what you are suggesting here Herko is totally acceptable. We inform the community of everything they need to know, but in an action separated then the ImpressCMS initiative. Go ahead my friend! Posted on: 12/8 8:22
